This small, secluded beach is somewhat of a secret and for those who like to escape the crowds. It’s almost an exclusive beach of the luxury resort above it (see below), but is very much public. It’s sheltered from the wind by tall cliffs and reached via a road next to the resort.
Pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation grow at the top of the golden cliff on the western (right) side of the beach, and from here you have a wonderful view of the coast, from Armação de Pêra to Albufeira.
In the summer, a small bar, parasols and sunbeds are placed on the sand. There’s also a lifeguard on duty in the bathing season. Due to the risk of rockfall, you should always keep a safe distance from the cliffs when sunbathing and should never walk too close to the edge of the cliff when accessing and leaving the beach.
When the water is calm, it’s crystal-clear and excellent for swimming and stand-up paddleboarding, as well as safe for children. When the tide rises, a large part of the beach disappears. The access via a narrow staircase carved on the cliff means that this is not a beach for those with mobility issues.

How to Get to Praia dos Tremoços
It’s possible to walk to this beach from Armação de Pêra (it takes about 20 minutes). By car it takes about 5 minutes. From Carvoeiro, the drive is less than 20 minutes, and from Albufeira about 25. Look for the signs to the Vila Vita Parc resort and then park next to it. There’s no public transportation to this beach.
Beaches by Praia dos Tremoços
Keep walking over the cliff to the left (when facing the sea), past the resort, and you reach the similar and romantic Praia dos Beijinhos. It’s also possible to walk to Praia da Cova Redonda and the picturesque Praia da Senhora da Rocha.

This is yet another luxury resort located above Praia dos Tremoços (about a 3-minute walk away). It’s one of the top thalassotherapy centers in the world and one of the best places to relax in Algarve. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, it offers spacious suites and two restaurants with sea views. The swimming pools also overlook the ocean.

Vila Galé Nautico
A more affordable option is about a 10-minute walk away. This is a large 4-star hotel, with rooms with balconies overlooking a swimming pool. It caters to families, offering a kids’ club, a kids’ pool and a playground. Massage services and a fitness center are available for the adults.
